I’m Emily: wife to Carlos, mom to Sophia, daughter of two loving parents and sister to my favorite twins. Oh, and because I’m always curious about someone’s age when I read their blog, I figured I would list the year I was born (1988) so you could not wonder anymore.
Mexico is where I live, but it’s not my home. That would be Texas, and yet it feels foreign to me sometimes, too. In fact, my life feels like one never-ending homework assignment of trying to figure out where I belong.
My faith in God helps with the confusion. I’ve been following Him for nearly 25 years, and He’s never left my side. I see reminders of His goodness in the simplest of things, like dirty dishes and baby hugs and parks with lots of green grass.
I’ve been journaling for 20+ years, and blogging is simply an extension of that habit. Currently, I’m writing a memoir, but feel odd referring to myself as a “writer.” I write because it brings me joy, and couldn’t we all use a little more joy in our lives?
Listening to music in different languages (Spanish and Italian especially) is something I enjoy, along with playing sports, traveling, and my Crock-Pot. I don’t really like cooking, so that’s why I like my Crock-Pot.
