Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day! I’ll be celebrating-ish tomorrow with Carlos because today he is working late. I say “celebrating-ish” because we always do something low-key and aren’t big on gifts (Carlos is going to love what I got him this year, though!). We’re so low-key that I only have memory of two Valentine’s Days out of the five we’ve been together. I do love the holiday, though, because it reminds me of all of the people who love me and for all of the people I have in my life to love.

I’ve literally been thinking for weeks about some epic post I could write today, but alas, the inspiration never came. So I’ll leave you with some of my favorite quotes about love, and a picture of Carlos and I, because it makes my heart happy:

“Who, being loved, is poor?”
– Oscar Wilde

“Doubt thou the stars are fire; Doubt that the sun doth move; Doubt truth to be a liar; But never doubt I love.”
– William Shakespeare

“To get the full value of a joy you must have somebody to divide it with.”                                  Mark Twain

“I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone.”
– Arwen, The Fellowship of the Ring

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”        -1 Corinthians 13:13

“It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche

“We can do no great things; only small things with great love.”
– Mother Teresa

“Love me when I least deserve it, because that’s when I really need it.”
– Swedish proverb

“If I know what love is, it is because of you.”
– Hermann Hesse
