Last weekend, Carlos and I went to a Gaelic football game at Croke Park, which is super close to my flat. Gaelic Football is a mix of American football, soccer, and rugby, and is wildly popular in Ireland and only Ireland. It’s played with 2 teams of 15. Basically you score 3 points by kicking it in the lower goal past the goalie (like in soccer), or throwing or kicking it through the uprights. We went to the semi-final game against Donegal and Cork. The underdogs, Donegal, pulled out the win! Judging by the fan support and the size of the stadium, you would never guess that the players and coaches of Gaelic football are all amateurs, but they are. It just shows how much they love the game.
