A little piece of home (Richardson, TX)
These guys definitely had the worst parade job-manually pushing the bubble machine float
I wore my green!
The parade itself wasn’t too impressive, but the atmosphere and people-watching make it a must-see. It’s also funny to see the things people do to have a good view. I saw two families that brought ladders for their children to sit on top of.
My good news is that…I found a job and a place to live!
My job will be “minding” a 3-year old girl (and maybe one of her friends) from 7:30 to 4:30 M-F. She goes to pre-school every day from 9-12, so I will have those hours off. I met the mom and the girl today and they are incredibly nice and from the Philippines! Also, the mom is WAY more easygoing than my previous employers, so I think this will be a better environment for me. I heard about this job through a friend literally an hour after I found out my last job was ending, and everything fell into place.
Over the weekend I found an online posting for a room to rent in a flat in the general area I wanted to live. Something about this posting really grabbed my attention and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I went to look at the flat yesterday and really, really liked it. They let me know last night that they wanted to rent the room to me, and that I can move in on Wednesday. My roommate is a Mexican girl, so I am excited to (hopefully) practice Spanish with her.
I am so excited to be back in Dublin and so thankful that God has provided for me once again, and quickly!
