Landed in Ireland

I’m safe and well in Dublin, praise the Lord! Customs was a breeze, and the immigration officer was so nice. I took the bus into the city center, then walked about .5 miles to my hostel. As I was walking, it was all I could do to not break into a smile, or start crying. All of the money and goodbyes and travel and doubts are worth it, because I am in Ireland.

The hostel isn’t super nice, but it was cheap and it’s safe and everyone I’ve met so far is really friendly.

Last night I went to a live music venue in London called the Troubadour Club and saw 4 really amazing musicians.  I told myself before I came on this trip that I wouldn’t let being alone stop me from doing things I want to do. Well, that’s a lot easier said than done. I almost didn’t go last night because I was scared people would think I was weird, lame, etc for being alone. But I made myself get on the tube and not think about it. Then once I actually got to the Troubadour Club I almost didn’t go inside. But again, I made myself do it. I’m so glad I did because it was much better than sitting alone in my hostel. For a while, I sat by myself, but then one of the employees started talking to me and made me feel really comfortable.

Dublin awaits tomorrow!
